Replication competent adenovirus (RCA) dectection
Current GMP and GLP guidelines may allow for the presence of very small amounts of RCA depending on the application of the vector, however strict limits must be set. Screening for RCA in complementing cell lines and vector supernatants is a critical component of safety testing. Our services include:
- Proprietary PCR diagnostic testing protocols with ultra-low detection limits.
- In-house validation of cell culture/cytopathic effect detection system by co-cultivation.
- Comprehensive or routine assay depending on our your requirements.
- Expert Advice on regulatory and technical issues.
- Customized protocols on request.
Applications:
- Screening for RCA
You provide:
- A virus suspension
The service includes:
- Detection of RCA in samples
- Detailed QA/QC Report
Advantages of using our services:
- Short turn-around
- Optimized methods
- Cost-effectiveness
Minimum time required:
- The time required depends on the number of samples. Typical time is 2-3 days.
An Important Note on Handling Adenovirus:
Adenovirus is an infectious respiratory virus and its use as a genetic vector requires the use of adequate containment equipment and practices. Biosafety Level 2 (BL2) is appropriate for most customers; however, for some, use of BL3 or higher level containment facility may be required. PLEASE NOTE, O.D.260 Inc. will not carry out projects that require BL3 (or above) containment.
